Men’s summer shoes – Flip flops, thongs and Crocs

Sandals are open, flat men’s shoes worn in the summer months and in warm weather.  We include flip flops, thongs and sandals in the same category.  They can be a staple in any man’s summer wardrobe which should include at least one pair of each!

Flip flops generally describe holiday shoes made from synthetic materials.  They have flat soles with a Y shape piece of fabric worn between your big toe and your next toe.  They are incredibly versatile shoes and you can choose from a massive range of colours and fabrics. They can be worn on the beach and are handy to kick off and leave at the edge of the beach while you take a dip.

We use the term thongs to describe more substantial leather type shoes.  They are the same style as flip flops, incredibly comfy, light to wear and light to pack in your luggage.  This is a bonus in a climate where airline prices and luggage charges are increasing. Birkenstocks have a good choice in men’s shoes and include an excellent choice of men’s thongs. The soles are designed for extra comfort and let your feet breathe.

Sometimes a style or brand of men’s shoes will become extremely popular and fashionable.  This has happened to Crocs. It’s now quite common to see a pair of Crocs amongst men’s Casual shoes. And it’s not surprising their popularity has grown over the last few years. Crocs are ergonomically designed, lightweight and antimicrobial- this means the shoes will help stop the growth of bacteria and fungi.  They are fantastic shoes to wear at the beach; excellent in a hot environment such as the Caribbean or just to wear for a day out at your nearest seaside destination. One pair is never enough. Buy a pair for walking along the promenade and another pair for walking around the local bars and taverns.  Crocs are fun and fashionable.  They are affordable, comfortable and can be washed, making them perfect men’s shoes.
